About
This project was envisioned as a way to educate people about cancer by appealing to the senses rather than overwhelming them with technical information. We achieve this by “giving” music “cancer”. Parts from the original piece are randomly chosen to “mutate”, where they continuously repeat the same several measures. When these parts repeat, they have a random probability to “mutate” and change their contents.
This paper was accepted and presented at ACM SIGCHI 2024 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Our work was also mentioned in my school’s newsletter on February 29th, 2024.
